Interfasys asserts
the market need for a clinical statistical QC application which puts
computing in one of the roles for which it is most appropriate--that
is, making logical decisions based on a set of rules. This translates to a huge
savings in labor costs and the costs of time spent in education and
training. An application
which will offer the versatility of easily viewing information from a
database in a multitude of useful and user-friendly ways with software
that is well-architected is what is required.
Interfasys is now
developing a stand-alone statistical validation package for the
clinical laboratory
(QCflex). This software package will
provide laboratory personnel with a powerful tool for determining the
integrity of patient results.
QCflex will
model and chart control data, and contains the required routines for
arriving at values for the statistical parameters required to do
this. Options for
using uncalculated statistical parameters will also be available. It is designed to be
multi-faceted in modeling and comparing control results from multiple
sources (instruments or technicians).
The
application itself can make the validation decision, if desired, based
upon a user-defined, or a user-chosen, set of rules. Annotations for plots for
non-statistical QC actions/events will be available. Validation
reports and statistical charts are parameter-driven, so that the
laboratory sees QC data from different data sets in the format they
choose.
